News of Travel

Received my first communication from the travel company which will arrange travel for my trip to Abu Dhabi.  Fly window changed to August 6-11.  Two days earlier than thought.  Next week will receive entry visa and e-ticket.  Wow!  Day by day this adventure is becoming more of a reality.  I've been so eager to receive this information.  Only a little bit longer and I'll be on a plane leaving the USA.  Nerves and excitement are abound!  Can't wait!  More to come....

Let the Packing Begin!

Today has been an emotional day! When I woke up, decided today was the day I would begin packing. 2 suitcases...oh the possibilities. Then I started looking at the mountain of clothes to sort through and decide what to take. All of a sudden those two suitcases weren't as big as I thought! My daughter and I worked through the day to decide what to take and what to leave. We laughed, giggled, and had a great girl's day. At around 3 o'clock, finished and decided to clean up. As my daughter and I started cleaning up, the reality of my trip and of her going off to college hit me all at once. Happiness and sadness at the same time! (Bittersweet!)

Growth can be bittersweet...Leaving the ones I love behind will be hard. The scariest part is being in a foreign country all alone, but I'm not afraid because I have my faith, my family and all my friends who are just a "Skype" away. New experiences await me in Abu Dhabi, but for now....just bought Space Bags to get more in my bags! :)
